Danzan-Ryu Jujitsu

The Chinese characters for Danzan-Ryu are the names for the Hawaiian Islands where Danzan-Ryu was founded by Seisho Okazaki. In 1906, Okozaki and his family immigrated to Hawaii. Okazaki faced a sudden setback in 1909 when he was diagnosed with tuberculosis. To beat this disease he started training in Jujitsu. Okzakis tuberculosis went to remission. After this he devoted his life to teaching Jujitsu. His traiing included Iwaga-Ryu and Kasagabe-Ryu Jujitsu.

Okozaki combined these techniques with elements of Karate, Filipino knife and Hawaiian Lau to create Danzan-Ryu Jujitsu.
