Chicago Hypnosis Video for Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis is an auto-immune disease that affects the central nervous system.
In MS, nerve cells are damaged by the body's own white blood cells. Currently there
is no known cure for Multiple Sclerosis. MS affects the brain and spinal cord.

In MS, the body's white blood cells attack tissue called myelin sheath.
Myelin sheaths are the protective covering for nerve fibers in the brain.

In an autoimmune disease, the body mistakes some part of itself as a foreign invader.
With MS, the part of the body that is mistaken as an invader is the protective
covering of nerve fibers, the myelin sheath. It's thought that the initial cause
of MS may an overreaction to a real foreign invader, such as a virus or bacteria.

This overreaction could cause the body’s immune system to attack myelin—in addition
to the invading virus or bacteria—even after the foreign invader is gone.
Pharmacological drugs are often prescribed for pain and other symptoms but don't appear
to provide long-term positive effects. Some drugs appear to lessen the severity of MS
attacks and can reduce the rate of the loss of ability.

Complementary and alternative treatments are can enhance any drug regime and for the MS
patient their use can increase a sense of control and provide a better quality of life.
Most MS sufferers will have higher levels of worry, stress, anxiety and fear. Excess
and prolonged stress may increase the severity of MS symptoms. Hypnosis used in a
hypnotherapy session induces a deep level of physical, mental and emotional relaxation.
